Israeli Strikes Lead to 30+ Deaths in Intensifying Gaza Offensive

At least 30 Palestinians, including children, have been reported killed in Israeli military strikes across central and southern Gaza since dawn. One particularly devastating air strike targeted a house sheltering displaced individuals north of az-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 11 people, according to a spokesperson from the territory’s civil defense. Emergency services have confirmed that several children are among the deceased, and their bodies have been transported to a nearby hospital. Israel’s recent escalation of military operations has led to the forced evacuation of hundreds of thousands of residents, with many fleeing Gaza City as the campaign intensifies. Those displaced face dire conditions, struggling to find shelter and access essential resources. Reports indicate that Gaza has been largely devastated, prompting a United Nations-backed organization to declare famine in parts of the territory last month. Since the onset of hostilities in October 2023, the conflict has resulted in significant loss of life, with fatalities exceeding 65,419 and injuries surpassing 167,160, while many are feared trapped under rubble.
