Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) saw a 16 percent surge in shares during early trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday, ultimately closing 7 percent higher after the company reported strong financial results for the March quarter and declared a final dividend. The notable increase was attributed to solid earnings growth and enhanced operational performance.

The stock’s closing price reached ₹3,072.70, having peaked at ₹3,339 from a previous close of ₹2,875.30.

For the quarter ending March 2026, GRSE reported a standalone net profit of ₹303.19 crore, reflecting a 24.1 percent increase year-over-year from ₹244.24 crore during the same period last year. Revenue from operations surged 29 percent year-over-year to ₹2,119.21 crore, compared to ₹1,642.03 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, indicating strong execution and growing order momentum.

For the fiscal year FY26, GRSE’s profit after tax rose 42 percent to ₹747.93 crore, up from ₹527.40 crore in the preceding year, highlighting continued growth across its shipbuilding and engineering divisions.

The company’s board of directors has proposed a final dividend of ₹6.70 per share for FY26, further bolstering investor confidence. The combination of robust quarterly performance, healthy annual growth, and attractive shareholder returns contributed to the substantial rally in GRSE shares throughout the trading session.
