National Award-winning actress Sharmila Tagore is making a comeback to the big screen after a 14-year hiatus with a new family drama film called ‘Outhouse’. The film, directed by Sunil Sukthankar, explores intergenerational connections, unexpected companionship, and the transformative power of trust and empathy. Alongside Tagore, the movie also stars Dr Mohan Agashe, Sonali Kulkarni, Neeraj Kabi, and Sunil Abhayankar in pivotal roles.

Dr Mohan Agashe, who is also producing the film, described ‘Outhouse’ as a wholesome family entertainer that promises heartwarming moments to brighten up the festive season. He expressed his joy in working with the talented cast and bringing this emotional journey to life on screen. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on December 20, 2024.

Tagore’s last film, ‘Gulmohar’, released in 2023 on OTT platforms and received critical acclaim. Directed by Rahul V Chittella, the movie revolves around a family preparing to bid farewell to their ancestral home. ‘Gulmohar’ went on to win several awards at the National Film Awards in 2024, including Best Hindi Film and Best Dialogue Writing. Manoj Bajpayee also received a special mention for his role as Tagore’s eldest son in the film.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Sharmila Tagore’s return to the silver screen in ‘Outhouse’, which promises to be a heartwarming and engaging family drama.
