New Delhi: In Game 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the Delhi Capitals faced off against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 17. Rajasthan Royals batted first, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi opening the innings.

Jaiswal was dismissed early, scoring just 12 runs off nine balls. In contrast, Sooryavanshi showcased a strong performance, contributing 46 runs from 21 deliveries. Dhruv Jurel added 53 runs in 40 balls, while Riyan Parag chipped in with 51 runs from 26 balls. However, despite a solid start from the top order, the middle and lower-order batsmen struggled, leading the Royals to a total of 193 runs in their innings.

Mitchell Starc emerged as the standout bowler for Delhi, claiming four wickets. Lungi Ngidi and Madhav Tiwari each took two wickets.

In response, Delhi Capitals began their chase with openers Abishek Porel and KL Rahul, scoring 51 and 56 runs, respectively. Sahil Parakh contributed nine runs, but it was the late innings performances from Axar Patel and Ashutosh Sharma that ensured a successful chase. Axar finished unbeaten on 34 runs off 18 balls, while Ashutosh contributed 18 runs off just five deliveries.

Despite a spirited effort from the Royals, including two wickets each from Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma, the effort fell short. Delhi Capitals secured a five-wicket victory, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
