Datamatics Global Services Limited has been awarded a contract to implement an Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system for 23 stations along Pune Metro Line 3. This particular section of the metro line spans from Hinjewadi to Civil Court (Shivaji Nagar) and covers approximately 23 kilometers of elevated track.

At 2.40 pm today, the shares of Datamatics Global Services Limited were trading at ₹680.80, showing an increase of ₹57.25 or 9.18 percent on the NSE.

Under this contract, the technology company will be responsible for designing, supplying, installing, testing, commissioning, and integrating the AFC system. The system will be in line with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) standard and will accommodate EMV open-loop contactless cards along with QR-based ticketing options.

Pune Metro Line 3 is a project undertaken as a public-private partnership between the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) and a joint venture of TRIL Urban Transport Private Limited and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH. The project follows a Design, Build, Finance, Operate & Transfer (DBFOT) model for a duration of 35 years.

Rahul Kanodia, the Vice Chairman and CEO of Datamatics, pointed out that the company possesses a robust AFC solution, making it the sole Indian firm with such capabilities. Datamatics has previously implemented AFC systems in several metro projects across India, including those in Lucknow, Mumbai, Kolkata, and the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor. Globally, the company has successfully executed over 25 similar projects in cities like London, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Melbourne over the past 25 years.
