This World Health Day, observed on April 7, focuses on the theme ‘Together for Health. Stand with Science.’ The World Health Organization (WHO) issues a clarion call for action, urging individuals to “Choose evidence. Trust facts. Support science-led health, for people, animals, and the planet.”

According to the WHO, significant improvements in global health over the last century can largely be attributed to scientific advancements. The organization emphasizes that the future of health will depend on our commitment to science-led strategies that benefit not just humans, but also animals, plants, ecosystems, and the entire planet, advocating for a One Health approach. The WHO made this statement as part of its collaboration with the G7 Presidency of France in hosting the International One Health Summit.

Published on April 6, 2026, this message underscores the interconnectedness of health across different domains.
