Camikara has become the first Indian rum to win ‘Rum Brand of the Year’ at The Spirits Business Awards 2025 in London, announced today. The victory marks a significant achievement for India’s spirits industry, with the brand defeating established competitors from traditional rum-producing regions including the Caribbean and Latin America.

Produced by Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd, Camikara is described as India’s first pure cane-juice aged rum. The judges at the awards described it as a “pioneer in its category” and credited it with putting Indian rum-making on the global map. The brand has positioned itself with a bartender-first approach in its home market.

The rum is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice and aged in American oak barrels under North India’s climate. It is available in three expressions: 3-year, 8-year, and 12-year aged variants. The company emphasizes that no colour, flavour, or sugar is added during production.

Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing at Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd, called the win “a defining milestone for India’s rum category” that strengthens the brand’s position as a global contender. The Spirits Business Awards is recognized as one of the most prestigious international competitions in the spirits industry.

The shares of Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd were trading at ₹615.95 up by ₹6.40 or 1.05 per cent on the NSE at 1.43 pm today.
