New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, Bhoot Bangla, is set to be released soon, with the actor currently engaged in promotional activities. During this time, he disclosed an interesting anecdote about his son, Aarav, who reportedly harbored a fear of actress Vidya Balan for six years, refusing to even meet her.
This fear stemmed from Balan’s portrayal of Manjulika in the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Kumar elaborated in a conversation with the Hindustan Times, revealing, “I was recently talking to my son, and he told me that after watching Bhool Bhulaiyaa for the first time, he couldn’t even bring himself to speak to Vidya Balan for six years.”
Kumar explained that Aarav was so frightened that despite Balan visiting their home, he would not meet her. “He wasn’t even willing to look her in the eye. I had to explain to him, ‘Son, this is Vidya Balan; she is a very nice person.’ But he would insist, ‘No, Dad, I don’t want to meet her.’ He was terrified,” Kumar added.
Bhoot Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, is scheduled to release on April 17. Fans are eagerly anticipating this film as it marks the reunion of the director-actor duo after 14 years. In addition to Kumar, the cast includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Asrani.
Notably, Akshay Kumar starred in Bhool Bhulaiyaa in 2007, while the subsequent installments featured Kartik Aaryan. Although these films were commercially successful, they did not meet critical expectations. Akshay’s return to a Priyadarshan project after 14 years adds a layer of interest for audiences.
