Director Anees Bazmee recently discussed the possibility of Akshay Kumar making a cameo in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. The franchise started with Priyadarshan’s 2007 hit featuring Kumar and Vidya Balan. Although Kumar was not a part of the sequel released in 2022 or the upcoming third installment, Bazmee remains hopeful about the actor’s return. Kartik Aaryan took on the lead role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which received mixed reactions from the audience.

In a recent interview with director Anees Bazmee, he addressed the speculation about Akshay’s return to the franchise. He mentioned to News18 that due to some reasons, Akshay couldn’t be a part of the sequel, and they didn’t want to pressure him. Bazmee expressed his admiration for Kumar and stated that he can always reach out to him without hesitation.

Reflecting on Akshay’s absence from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Anees explained that the actor couldn’t participate for undisclosed reasons. However, they made the sequel with sincerity and didn’t want to force him to return. Bazmee mentioned his close relationship with Kumar and his ability to convince him to cameo in his films if a role suits him.

Despite initial doubts about the film’s success, Anees noted that audiences responded positively to Kartik’s performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He acknowledged the challenges faced during the film’s release but mentioned that people appreciated Kartik as much as they had liked Akshay.

Looking ahead, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to release on November 1, 2024, featuring an ensemble cast including Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit. Fans are eagerly anticipating the film’s release and are curious to see if Akshay will make a special appearance.
