The Union cabinet has approved a railway project worth Rs 2,245 crore in Andhra Pradesh, connecting the capital Amaravati with major metro cities such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai. The project spans 57 km in length and aims to enhance connectivity between central and north India with south India. Additionally, it will provide access to various religious sites and ports in the region.

One of the key highlights of the project is the construction of a 3 km long bridge across the Krishna River. It is also expected to create 19 lakh human days of work and save 6 crore kg of Carbon Monoxide, which is equivalent to planting 25 lakh trees.

In Bihar, the cabinet has approved the doubling of the Narkatiaganj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga & Sitamarhi – Muzaffarpur corridor at a cost of Rs 4,553 crore. This 256-km long project will benefit Uttar Pradesh and North Bihar, running parallel to the international border of Nepal. It will provide alternate connectivity to the Chicken Neck region between Northern States & North-East Ayodhya to Sitamarhi.

Furthermore, the project will improve connectivity to Kathmandu, Janakpur, and Lumbini for faster movement of essential goods. It is estimated to generate 87 lakh human days of work and save 162 crore kg of Carbon Monoxide, equivalent to planting 6.5 crore trees.
