The investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma has garnered significant attention following a statement from her father, Navnidhi Sharma, expressing confidence that the truth will emerge. A medical team from AIIMS has arrived in Bhopal to conduct a second post-mortem examination, adhering to directives from the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

This fresh autopsy was initiated after Twisha’s family raised concerns and called for an independent inquiry, alleging a “posthumous character trial” of their daughter. In an interview with ANI, Navnidhi Sharma remarked, “The team from AIIMS have arrived, and we are confident they will bring us justice. The discrepancies will come forth. We were called for the body recognition protocol. Thanks to everyone, including the Chief Minister, who took cognisance and recommended the CBI. This case will become a lesson, and anyone will think multiple times before doing such a thing with a daughter.”

The Supreme Court has also taken notice of Twisha Sharma’s death, with a bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant expected to address the case on Monday. The matter is officially titled ‘In Re Alleged Institutional Bias and Procedural Discrepancies in the Unnatural Death of a Young Woman at Matrimonial Home.’

Earlier, a local court in Bhopal ordered the remand of Samarth Singh, Twisha’s husband and the primary suspect, to seven days of police custody for further interrogation. Twisha Sharma, a model-turned-actor based in Noida, was found dead on May 12 at her in-laws’ home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal, just months after her marriage to advocate Samarth Singh. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws, including retired district judge Giribala Singh, of dowry harassment and mental torture.
