Every year in May, Google hosts its developer conference, Google I/O, in Mountain View, California, attracting both developers and media. The keynote address serves as a platform for the tech giant to unveil its latest projects, highlighting upcoming services and features integrated into widely used products like Android, Google Workspace, Gemini, and Google Home.

This year’s keynote is scheduled to start at 10 am Pacific, 1 pm Eastern, and 6 pm British Summer Time. Viewers can access the livestream on the official event page or on Google’s YouTube channel.

Ahead of the conference, Google announced new features for Android 17 and Android Auto, along with updates to Gemini Intelligence—its AI capabilities for advanced Android devices. Additionally, the company introduced a new laptop platform, Googlebook, which will utilize Android technologies and Gemini, with hardware support from manufacturers such as HP, Dell, and Lenovo set to launch later this year.

During the keynote, attendees can anticipate the introduction of new task automation features in Gemini, updates on the latest AI models, and further information about Google’s anticipated Android XR smart glasses. These glasses are expected to be released this year in partnership with brands like Samsung, Xreal, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster.

WIRED has a team present at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. A live blog will begin 30 minutes before the keynote, replacing the initial text with real-time updates. Throughout the event, the team will provide updates, analyses, and reactions to Google’s announcements.

Viewers are reminded to return at 9:30 am Pacific for the preliminary coverage, with the keynote set to commence at 10 am.
