India and Netherlands Launch Collaborative Working Group to Advance Clean Energy Initiatives

India and the Netherlands have established a joint working group aimed at advancing India’s clean energy initiatives through collaborative technology, expertise, and finance, according to a social media update from Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy.

The minister stated that the formation of this group would open new avenues for Indian industries, researchers, and workers involved in green energy sectors. This development follows several agreements signed between Indian and Dutch officials during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the Netherlands, which aimed to enhance strategic relations and cooperation between the two countries.

“The India-Netherlands partnership has gained new momentum during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the Netherlands. Cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and energy transition will bolster clean energy innovation, stimulate investments, create new economic opportunities, and support India’s role as a global green hydrogen hub,” Joshi stated on the platform X.

He emphasized that the collaborative roadmap on green hydrogen between India and the Netherlands would facilitate the expansion of export markets in Europe for India, while also attracting investments and technology necessary for electrolysers, storage solutions, and port infrastructure. Additionally, this partnership is expected to generate high-skilled jobs and reinforce India’s status as a global leader in green hydrogen production.

Joshi further noted that the agreement between Niti Aayog and the Netherlands regarding energy sector projects and energy transition initiatives would foster collaborative projects and industry partnerships, enhance energy security through a diversified and cleaner energy mix, and create economic opportunities through green jobs and innovation.
