Kolkata: The 60th match of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2026 saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) host Gujarat Titans (GT) at Eden Gardens on May 16th. KKR opted to bat first, facing an early setback with Ajinkya Rahane dismissed for just 14 runs. However, Finn Allen provided stability, scoring an impressive 93 runs off 35 balls.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green also made significant contributions with the bat. Raghuvanshi finished with an unbeaten 82 runs from 44 deliveries, while Green added 52 runs from 28 balls. KKR ultimately posted a formidable total of 247 runs in their innings. For GT, bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Sai Kishore each claimed one wicket.

In the run chase, GT’s innings began with Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill at the crease. Sudharsan, hampered by injury, returned to the game later after Gill’s dismissal. Nishant Sindhu was dismissed cheaply for just one run, but captain Shubman Gill kept the chase alive with a solid performance, scoring 85 runs from 49 deliveries. Jos Buttler contributed 57 runs off 35 balls, while Sudharsan managed 52* runs from 28 deliveries. However, despite these efforts, GT fell short, and KKR secured victory by 29 runs, thus keeping their playoff hopes alive. This loss dropped Delhi Capitals to eighth place while allowing KKR to rise to seventh in the points table.
