New Delhi: As the current Premier League season nears its conclusion, Arsenal remains at the top of the standings, aiming to secure their first league championship in several years. Thus far, Arsenal has played 35 matches, accumulating 76 points.
Manchester City trails closely behind with 74 points from the same number of matches, and they will hope for an Arsenal misstep in their upcoming fixtures to keep their title hopes alive. Arsenal’s next match is against West Ham, scheduled for May 10th at the London Stadium.
Ahead of this crucial encounter, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his support for West Ham in a light-hearted moment during a press conference. “Come on you Irons,” Pep remarked, referencing West Ham’s motto, which generated laughter in the room as he left the venue.
Additionally, Guardiola praised winger Jeremy Doku for his recent performances. Doku has been pivotal for Manchester City, scoring key goals and contributing significantly to the team’s success. Guardiola acknowledged Doku’s recent growth, stating, “This season he made a step forward that players must do to try to do better and better, and it belongs absolutely to him, the confidence. In good teams, you always need people up front—not just Erling; attacking midfielders and wingers need to make actions like that to win games.”
