Naman Bagri has been appointed as Managing Partner at India Growth Fund – I (IGF-I), a venture capital firm accredited by SEBI, and backed by 35North Ventures. With two decades of experience in long-term investment strategies aimed at creating sustained value, Bagri’s new role signifies a substantial advancement as IGF-I sharpens its focus on key emerging sectors in India, including Defence, Deep Tech, Space, and ESG-linked Manufacturing.

IGF-I operates as a SEBI-approved Category I Alternative Investment Fund with a targeted corpus of ₹2,000 crore, in addition to a ₹500 crore greenshoe option. The fund is geared towards supporting growth-stage companies ranging from Series A to pre-IPO stages, building on the prior successes of the India Discovery Fund vintages that invested in areas such as defence technology, advanced manufacturing, fintech, SaaS, healthtech, consumer technology, and emerging digital infrastructure.

35North Ventures functions as an India-centric private equity and venture capital investment manager, overseeing CAT-1 AIFs across both early and growth stages. It acts as both sponsor and investment manager for both the India Discovery Fund and India Growth Fund series.

Bagri brings extensive expertise in entrepreneurship, capital markets, investment strategy, and scaling financial businesses, underpinned by a disciplined approach to capital compounding and team building.

Reflecting on his appointment, Bagri stated, “Joining India Growth Fund feels like a natural next step, a chance to back the founders who are quietly building India’s future, and to do it with a team that shares the same long-term conviction.”

His appointment is particularly noteworthy as IGF-I emphasizes the need for increased capital for growth-stage companies, with Bagri poised to offer critical guidance, execution rigor, and access to valuable networks.

Milan Sharma, Co-founder and Managing Director of India Growth Fund, remarked that Bagri embodies a compelling mix of entrepreneurial vision, investment discipline, and execution excellence.
