BJP national president Nitin Nabin announced that the party will contest the 2027 Uttarakhand assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Nabin emphasized that Dhami will be projected as the face of the upcoming elections, indicating the BJP’s strategic approach for the state polls.

In an interview with a Hindi news channel, Nabin praised the Dhami administration for its focus on development and governance, highlighting improvements in administrative transparency and the provision of basic facilities in remote areas. He noted that Uttarakhand has experienced progress in recent years, even as he acknowledged that every state faces unique challenges.

This announcement aligns with recent comments made by senior BJP leaders regarding Dhami’s leadership. During a visit to Dehradun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Dhami’s work. Additionally, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh referred to Dhami as a “formidable leader” at an event in Haldwani. Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to Haridwar, described the state government’s policies as people-centric, expressing confidence in the BJP achieving a third consecutive victory in the upcoming elections.
