Lucknow: Ace pacer Jofra Archer claimed three wickets as Rajasthan Royals secured a 40-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium. With this performance, Archer became the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan in IPL history, surpassing Shane Watson’s previous record of 67 wickets, now standing at 68 wickets for the franchise. Yuzvendra Chahal, Siddharth Trivedi, and Shane Warne follow in third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.

During the match, Archer dismissed Aiden Markram for a duck in the powerplay, followed by the dismissals of Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan in the final overs. As a result, Rajasthan climbed to second place on the IPL points table. Archer is having an impressive season, having taken 11 wickets in just seven matches, positioning him as one of the joint-third leading wicket-takers of the season, alongside teammate Ravi Bishnoi.

Most Wickets for Rajasthan Royals in IPL History:

Player Wickets
Jofra Archer 68
Shane Watson 67
Yuzvendra Chahal 66
Siddharth Trivedi 65
Shane Warne 58

Archer also bowled 17 dot balls during the match against LSG, displaying his control and effectiveness. He notably bowled a maiden over in the powerplay against Nicholas Pooran, highlighting his dominance in crucial phases of the game.

In addition, veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was named Player of the Match. Rajasthan did not begin strongly with the bat in their innings, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scoring only eight runs off 11 balls and Dhruv Jurel being dismissed for a golden duck. The middle order struggled to stabilize the innings, but Jadeja contributed significantly by scoring an unbeaten 43 runs. His innings helped Rajasthan to post a total of 159 runs.

In the post-match presentation, Jadeja humorously commented on his celebration after dismissing Nicholas Pooran, stating, “Yeah, he’s (Pooran) in my pocket (chuckles). A random thought came into my mind.”
