India secured a thrilling victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, successfully chasing down a target of 147 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Tilak Varma crafted an impressive, unbeaten 69 runs off 53 deliveries, marking a standout performance in the final.
With this victory, India captured its ninth Asia Cup title and second T20 Asia Cup, becoming the first team to meet Pakistan in a final within this continental tournament format. Following the match, players received various awards and prize money from event organizers.
India Receives INR 2.5 Crore for Asia Cup Victory
For winning the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team was awarded a prize of 3,000,000 USD, equivalent to approximately Rs. 2.5 crore. However, it was noted that the team did not officially receive this prize money. Although some awards were distributed during the presentation ceremony, Indian players chose not to accept their medals or the trophy from the Asian Cricket Council chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the country’s interior minister.
Abhishek Sharma Named Player of the Tournament, Kuldeep Yadav Earns Player of the Match
Abhishek Sharma was honored as the Player of the Tournament, having amassed 314 runs across seven innings, despite only contributing five runs in the final. Kuldeep Yadav, who played a pivotal role in restricting Pakistan’s score, was named Player of the Match after claiming four wickets for 30 runs during the match.
