NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Team India on their Asia Cup victory against Pakistan shortly after the final match concluded. He invoked the term “Operation Sindoor” to frame the win as an emblem of national pride. In a post on X, he stated, “Operation Sindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.”

The Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, secured the high-stakes final by five wickets, marking India’s third consecutive victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. This match took place amid ongoing discussions regarding the appropriateness of playing against Pakistan in light of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which had drawn widespread outrage in India.
