A 20-year-old woman’s body was discovered in a thicket near the Uran railway station in Navi Mumbai, prompting the registration of a murder case, police officials reported on July 28. The body was found at 2:15 a.m. on July 27, confirmed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vivek Pansare.

The victim, who was employed in Belapur, had taken a half-day leave on July 26. According to DCP Pansare, the murder is believed to have occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. that day.

Authorities have filed a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against unidentified individuals. Three teams have been assembled to locate the suspects, and the Crime Branch is conducting an independent investigation into the matter, as stated by DCP Pansare.

The case continues to develop as law enforcement seeks to uncover more details surrounding this tragic incident.
