JAMMU: BSF Conducts Search Operation After Suspected Drone Activity
The Border Security Force (BSF) initiated a search operation following detection of a suspected Pakistani drone along the International Border in RS Pura, Jammu district, officials reported on Sunday. The drone, which marked the fourth sighting this month, was observed hovering on the Indian side around 7 PM the previous evening.
Officials stated, “Search operations are continuing to rule out any possible airdropping of weapons or narcotics.”
On September 16, BSF personnel recovered an AK-series assault rifle along with a magazine during a search operation at the Budhwar border outpost, triggered by suspicious movement. Earlier, on September 13, police discovered a drone equipped with a thermal payload in the Akhnoor area on the outskirts of the city.
Additionally, a suspected Pakistani drone was sighted over an Army garrison in Samba district, prompting security forces to launch a search operation on September 6.
