New Delhi: The stage is set for the third and final ODI of the ongoing series between India women’s cricket team and Australia women’s cricket team. The two sides are set to compete at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on September 20, serving as the series decider. Ahead of the match, the Indian team will wear special pink jerseys to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Team India announced this initiative on social media, sharing a clip featuring skipper Harmanpreet Kaur along with other team members in the special jerseys. The post on Instagram read, “Thanks a Dot! #TeamIndia will be wearing special pink-coloured jerseys in the Third ODI today to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.”

In the series so far, the Indian team has demonstrated commendable performances despite an initial setback. In the first ODI, India scored 281 runs but lost the match to Australia by eight wickets, as the visitors successfully chased down the target without losing significant wickets.

India’s Strong Comeback in the Second ODI

In the second ODI, however, India made a significant comeback. Batting first, the team amassed 292 runs, driven by a century from Smriti Mandhana. The Indian bowling unit then restricted Australia to 190 runs, ensuring a comfortable victory by 102 runs.

Post-match, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur emphasized the importance of sticking to their plans in the second ODI. “We are happy that we played good cricket – that is what we discussed in the last team meeting, to stick to our plans and keep doing those things again and again. We talk about keeping things simple and clear, and that is something that always works for us,” said Kaur during the presentation ceremony.
