The Indian automobile sector has been active recently, marked by new launches, updates on electric vehicles (EVs), and spy shots of forthcoming models. A significant highlight was the introduction of the 2025 Renault Kiger facelift, starting at Rs 6.30 lakh. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki commenced production of its highly anticipated e-Vitara EV, and Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast announced launch timelines for its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. Enthusiasts were also treated to glimpses of the upcoming Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos, and Mahindra XUV700 facelifts through spy images.

2025 Renault Kiger Facelift

Renault has officially launched the 2025 Kiger facelift at an ex-showroom price of Rs 6.30 lakh. The updated sub-4-meter SUV features a refreshed exterior, new color options, and upgraded interior amenities, while maintaining its existing petrol engine variants. Consistent with the 2025 Renault Triber, the Kiger now boasts a new naming convention for its variants.

VinFast VF6 and VF7 India Launch Date Announced

VinFast has confirmed that its upcoming electric vehicles, the VF6 and VF7, will soon debut in India. Both models will be produced at the company’s new facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, and are currently open for pre-booking for a refundable fee of Rs 21,000. These will be the first offerings from VinFast in the Indian market.

Maruti e-Vitara Production Starts in Gujarat

Maruti Suzuki has initiated production of its inaugural electric SUV, the e-Vitara, at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the flag-off of the first unit. The SUV is intended for both domestic sales and exports, with plans to ship to over 100 countries, including Japan.

2025 Hyundai Venue Interior Spied

Recently surfaced spy shots of the next-generation Hyundai Venue reveal a redesigned interior. The dashboard layout appears to take inspiration from Hyundai’s larger SUVs like the Creta and Alcazar, with expectations for more premium features in the final version.

Next-Gen Kia Seltos Spotted

The next-generation Kia Seltos has been spotted testing on Indian roads in Hyderabad for the first time. The captured images show a new bumper design, updated headlamps and tail-lamps, as well as redesigned alloy wheels. Previous test mules had been observed in international markets, but this marks the initial sighting in India.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Caught on Test

Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700 facelift, was again spotted during testing. The updated model showcases a sharper front design, a redesigned bumper, and new alloy wheels. Earlier spy shots have suggested a possible triple-screen dashboard setup. The facelift is anticipated to launch in India by early 2026.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Sales Paused in Australia

Deliveries of the India-manufactured Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door, known as Jimny XL in overseas markets, have been temporarily halted in Australia. The company stated that the issue pertains to the stockyard, rather than safety concerns, although no timeline for resuming sales has been provided.
