Alphabet Surges Past $3 Trillion Market Cap Thanks to AI and Antitrust Win

Google’s parent company, Alphabet, achieved a market capitalization of $3 trillion for the first time on Monday, fueled by renewed optimism surrounding artificial intelligence and a favorable antitrust ruling.

Class A shares rose by 4.6% to $251.88, while Class C shares increased by 4.5% to $252.3, both reaching record highs. Alphabet joins the ranks of companies like Apple and Microsoft, which have also reached $3 trillion valuations, while Nvidia has surpassed the $4 trillion milestone.

The recent uplift in Alphabet’s fortunes follows a U.S. federal judge’s decision permitting the company to maintain control over its Chrome browser and Android operating system. This ruling represents a significant development for the tech giant, which has faced scrutiny regarding its dominance in search and mobile markets.

Investor confidence was also bolstered by the company’s cloud computing division, which reported nearly a 32% increase in second-quarter revenue, exceeding expectations as investments in proprietary chips and the Gemini AI model began to yield results.
