Larsen & Toubro Limited’s arm, L&T Energy Green Tech Limited (LTEGL), has teamed up with Belgium-based John Cockerill to explore Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) technologies, as per a press release.

At 2:20 pm today, Larsen & Toubro Limited’s shares were trading at ₹3,488.75, up by ₹72.80 or 2.13 per cent on the NSE. The collaboration between LTEGL and John Cockerill aims to identify opportunities in manufacturing, component supply, and engineering solutions for CSP and TES projects, combining LTEGL’s expertise with John Cockerill’s experience in energy technologies.

LTEGL, a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, focuses on sustainable energy solutions like green hydrogen and electrolyser manufacturing, while John Cockerill brings over 200 years of experience in energy and industry, particularly in solar thermal receivers for concentrating solar power plants.

Subramanian Sarma, Whole-time Director & President (Energy) at L&T, stressed the importance of round-the-clock renewable power availability for global energy transition. Thomas Bohner, CEO of John Cockerill Energy, highlighted their expertise in solar thermal receivers with projects in the UAE, China, Chile, and South Africa.

The partnership is expected to support India’s transition to sustainable energy adoption and help achieve the country’s net-zero commitments.
