The NSE witnessed Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) trading at ₹283.40, a rise of ₹6.57 or 2.37 per cent at 11:23 am today.

In a recent development, BEL, a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, inked a deal worth ₹2,463 crore with the Ministry of Defence for supplying indigenous Ashwini Radars to the Indian Air Force. The contract was announced through a regulatory filing on March 12, 2025.

Developed jointly by DRDO and BEL, these fully indigenous AESA radars boast advanced features like integrated IFF capabilities, electronic scanning in azimuth and elevation, and 4D surveillance. These mobile radar systems are designed for deployment across various terrains and have the ability to automatically detect and track a wide range of aerial targets, from fighter aircraft to slow-moving ones, while incorporating advanced ECCM features.

With this new contract, BEL has added to its kitty contracts worth ₹17,030 crore in the current fiscal year, consolidating its position in India’s defence manufacturing sector.
