Star Health and Allied Insurance Ltd has launched a women’s health initiative called ‘SheTARA’ in Tamil Nadu, offering free medical screenings at over 40 locations in the state to mark International Women’s Day on Friday.

The stock of Star Health and Allied Insurance closed at ₹367, down by ₹1.95 or 0.53 per cent on the NSE today.

Under the ‘SheTARA’ initiative, a flagship event was held at the company’s Anna Nagar branch in Chennai, providing various health services such as BMI calculation, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar tests, thyroid function tests, and bone mineral density screenings.

Anand Roy, the MD & CEO of Star Health Insurance, stressed the importance of women’s health as a key component of a thriving society. The initiative aims to ensure quality preventive healthcare access for all, irrespective of background.

In addition to healthcare services, the company is actively recruiting women as insurance agents. In Tamil Nadu alone, Star Health has more than 16,000 women agents who have generated over ₹420 crore in business volume and helped settle almost ₹250 crore in health claims during FY25 (April-January 2025).

The company also highlighted its women-operated ‘Pink Branch’ in Chennai, which employs 12 women and serves over 300 agents.

In FY24, Star Health Insurance reported a gross written premium of ₹15,254 crore and a net worth of ₹6,339 crore.
