When it comes to luxury, perceptions vary greatly. For some, a Travelpro Platinum Elite represents the peak of luxury (the “pro” and “elite” are right there in the title!), while for others, anything short of a Louis Vuitton trunk means you’re either embracing understated luxury or simply not financially capable.
As a relatively recent entrant into the realm of high-end luggage, I’ve been using a Tom Bihn Aeronaut 45 for ten years until my supervisor introduced me to Rimowa. I quickly discovered my appreciation for Rimowa—I’m drawn to the brand’s luxe bohemian aesthetic and the way its aluminum exterior gains character with each journey. However, as someone who travels almost every month, I’m continually on the lookout for new options.
Carl Friedrik is a relatively young luggage brand based in London, known for its unique leather accents. Their larger suitcases meant for checking typically retail for around $800, while a rolling carry-on goes for about $550. Depending on your viewpoint, these prices might seem either quite reasonable or downright exorbitant. All I can say is that it’s an exquisite bag for transporting your belongings.
