The stock market saw a mix of gains and losses on Tuesday, bouncing back from the previous day’s decline. While metal, realty, PSU Bank, IT, and pharma stocks were in the red, auto stocks showed strength.

Leading the gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra, with a 3.28% increase to ₹2,798 and a trading volume of 31.36 lakh. Bharti Airtel followed with a 2.20% rise to ₹1,636.55, and Bajaj Finance gained 1.63% to ₹8,491.25. Two Adani Group stocks, Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports, also rose 1.43% and 1.40% to ₹2,145.5 and ₹1,085.35, respectively.

Tata Investment stock surged 7.55% to ₹6,190.05, reaching an intraday high of ₹6,344, following Tata Capital’s IPO announcement.

On the flip side, Hindalco was among the top losers, dropping 3.05% to trade at ₹622.3, driven by the Nifty Metal index. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories saw a decline of 2.35% to ₹1,137.15, as selling pressure weighed on the pharmaceutical sector.

Trent slipped by 1.57% to ₹4,986.45, while TCS dipped 1.32% to ₹3,626.9, with the IT sector under pressure but slightly up from the previous day. Sun Pharma also fell 1.29% to 1618.4, contributing to the weakness in the pharmaceutical space.

On the BSE, shares of Jindal Worldwide, Tata Investment Corporation, and Adani Power surged over 7%, while Can Fin Homes, Dr Lal Pathlabs, and Aditya Birla Real Estate declined over 4%.

At 12.50 pm, the Sensex was marginally up by 191.76 points or 0.26% at 74,646.17, while the Nifty 50 remained flat at 22,571.20.
