Major wireless providers: An unavoidable necessity if you travel frequently, have a family, or simply prefer consistent and extensive coverage. AT&T ranks as the third-largest provider in the United States (leading in 5G), boasting the most comprehensive coverage map. I’ve been using various AT&T plans for over a decade, initially just for myself and now for my entire family, even though I struggle to get a single cell bar at home and must position myself in one 5-square-foot area of the yard to place a call. I’ve also spent countless hours battling unexpected charges and upselling attempts. (Surprisingly, Verizon manages to be even more frustrating.) However, AT&T gets the job done; it offers all the latest smartphone models and includes some genuinely valuable perks, such as no roaming fees in Canada or Mexico on select plans. If you must choose one of the big carriers, make sure to explore the discounts listed below before signing up.

Sign Up for AT&T Fiber and Receive Up to $200 With This Promotion

If you’ve been contemplating a switch to fiber internet, now is an excellent opportunity. Currently, you can earn a Visa Rewards Card worth up to $150 when you subscribe to AT&T Fiber ($50 for 300 mbps, $100 for 500 mbps, and $150 for 1 GIG). Additionally, entering the code WINTER50 at checkout grants you another $50. In total, this adds up to plenty of money for a year’s subscription to some of your favorite streaming services, plus enough virtual currency like Robux or V-Bucks to keep your kids entertained while you enjoy those services. This offer expires on March 31 and is exclusively available at att.com for new qualified residential AT&T fiber customers. (Residents in certain multi-dwelling units are not eligible.)

Do AT&T Promotions Apply to Existing Customers?

You might be wondering—what about me? I already have AT&T, and new promotions don’t seem to apply to my situation. But do you have AT&T internet as well? If, like myself, you have AT&T for your mobile plan but use Xfinity or CenturyLink for internet, did you know you could save 20 percent on your AT&T bill every month by bundling your internet service with unlimited wireless? This discount is available to both current phone users and existing internet customers who don’t yet have both services.

AT&T Discounts for Professionals and Students

One of the reasons I chose AT&T initially is because my husband teaches college courses and we benefit from a substantial 25 percent discount. This discount is available to all teachers, active military personnel, veterans, first responders, and many healthcare professionals. If you don’t fall into any of these categories, students and union members can save $10 per line each month, and union members can enjoy a 20 percent discount on accessories like phone cases and other items that used to come with phone purchases, such as chargers and cords.

Not Eligible for a Student or Military Discount? No Worries

Not a new customer, not interested in bundling, and not a teacher, military personnel, or student? There are still ways to save. You could potentially save over $800 per year on AT&T Wireless by bundling four unlimited wireless plans with your existing internet service. (This savings is based on a 20 percent discount on four voice lines coupled with qualified internet service, plus a $10/month deduction available through eligible AutoPay and electronic billing, which takes effect within two billing cycles.)

If you don’t need four unlimited wireless plans, check whether your employer provides a discount—many of mine have offered this in the past, allowing for a $10 monthly discount per line on the unlimited plan. Verify if your workplace qualifies here.

You can also receive a discount on a new device when you trade in an eligible phone, but perhaps the most enticing offer is AT&T’s 30-day trial, which lets you experience their wireless service for free. You can keep your current carrier and phone number while testing AT&T’s network on your device, without any hidden fees or commitments. No credit card is required, making it a fantastic way to determine if their service works well in the areas where you’ll be using your phone the most.

Finally, if none of these options apply to you, consider waiting for Cyber Monday this year when AT&T typically offers some of its best promotions on smartphones, wearables, tablets, and accessories. No special codes or coupons are needed.
