Delhi Elections 2025: On Thursday, Sanjay Singh, a Member of Parliament from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to entice seven of AAP’s MLAs to cross over by offering them a sum of ” ₹15 crores.”

“We have advised our MLAs to keep track of such audio calls and file complaints. If anyone approaches them, they must record the encounter discreetly with a hidden camera,” Sanjay Singh added.

It’s noteworthy that just on February 1, mere days ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections, several MLAs cited claims of corruption and ideological drift as reasons for their departure from the party.

Madan Lal, one of the former AAP MLAs who resigned, criticized the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP for substituting committed workers with candidates burdened by criminal cases and several FIRs.

Nonetheless, Sanjay Singh contended that the BJP is actively attempting to destabilize the AAP. “The BJP has already acknowledged its defeat prior to the vote counting and, like in other parts of the country, has commenced a campaign of poaching in Delhi as well,” he expressed vehemently against the saffron party.

On Wednesday, Delhi cast its votes to choose representatives for 70 Assembly constituencies.

What did the exit polls forecast for the Delhi elections?

Exit polls for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections have indicated a significant resurgence for the Bharatiya Janata Party after 27 years, which could potentially mark the end of the Aam Aadmi Party’s leadership.

Seat Range Predictions: The AAP is anticipated to secure between 21 and 31 seats. Other projections suggest that the BJP might win between 40 and 44 seats, while the AAP is estimated to obtain 25 to 29 seats.

Specific Exit Poll Findings:

People’s Insight: The BJP is expected to capture 40 to 44 seats, whereas the AAP may secure 25 to 29 seats.

P-Marq: Predictions indicate that the BJP and its allies will obtain between 39 and 49 seats, with the AAP projected to get 21 to 31 seats.

JVC exit poll: It forecasts that the BJP and its allies would garner between 39 and 45 seats, while the AAP would claim 22 to 31 seats.

Poll Diary: The BJP and its allies are indicated to win between 42 and 50 seats, with the AAP facing a range of 18 to 25 seats.

It is crucial to mention that exit polls have historically shown a tendency for inaccuracy. The real outcomes may diverge significantly from what the exit polls suggest. The official results for the Delhi Assembly elections will be announced on February 8.
