Sanjay Singh Complains to ED Against BJP’s Parvesh Verma, Seeks Action Assurance

In a recent development in New Delhi, Sanjay Singh, a leader from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), lodged a formal complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against BJP leader Parvesh Verma. Singh accused Verma of distributing cash to women in connection with the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

After submitting the complaint at the ED office, Singh remarked to the media that while the agency acknowledged receipt of the complaint, no firm assurances of action had been given. “What the ED will do remains uncertain, but we have received confirmation that they accepted our complaint,” he stated.

The controversy intensified when Parvesh Verma was seen handing out Rs 1,100 each to women in the New Delhi constituency. Following this, Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP leader and candidate for the same constituency, denounced Verma as a “traitor.” Delhi CM Atishi also demanded the immediate arrest of Verma.

Kejriwal, asserting his stance, questioned whether Delhi voters would support someone who engages in such practices to sway votes. He publicly alleged that Verma’s actions were tantamount to vote-buying rather than genuine assistance to the needy.

Responding to the backlash, Parvesh Verma defended his actions, claiming that the Rs 1,100 assistance was part of a financial aid initiative carried out by Rashtriya Swabhiman, an organization founded by his father. He emphasized that his approach was rooted in genuine help for people, contrasting it with what he described as Kejriwal’s distribution of alcohol in past elections.

Verma remarked on the suffering he had witnessed among women over the past weeks, stating that he decided to provide monthly support to alleviate their struggles. He further added that his organization has undertaken various humanitarian efforts, including reconstruction of villages affected by natural disasters and providing essential medical support during the pandemic.

As the electoral tension escalates, Parvesh Verma is also seen as a potential contender against Kejriwal in the New Delhi electoral battle.
