In a surprising turn of events in the dance world, renowned choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife, Lizelle, are facing legal troubles in Maharashtra’s Thane district. They have been accused, along with five others, of cheating a dance troupe out of a massive Rs 11.96 crore, as per reports from local police.

The allegations came to light when a 26-year-old dancer filed a complaint at Mira Road police station on October 16. The complaint outlines a scheme of deception that dates back to 2018, culminating in July 2024 when the dance troupe won a television competition. However, the accused individuals allegedly posed as representatives of the troupe and claimed the prize money, leaving the dancers empty-handed.

Apart from Remo and Lizelle, the complaint also implicates Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, the Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, and Ramesh Gupta, and an investigation is currently underway.

Remo D’Souza is a well-known figure in the entertainment industry, having served as a judge on various dance reality shows for over 15 years, such as Dance India Dance and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. His expertise and charisma have earned him a loyal fan base, making the current allegations particularly shocking to many.

Despite the legal troubles, Remo is gearing up for the release of his latest film, Be Happy, which will premiere on Prime Video. The movie, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Inayat Verma, revolves around the heartwarming tale of a single father and his daughter. With talents like Nora Fatehi, Nassar, and Johny Lever also part of the project, anticipation for its release is high.

As the legal drama unfolds, fans of Remo D’Souza are left wondering about the impact on his personal and professional life. Will this controversy overshadow his successful career, or will he find a way to win back the hearts of his audience? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates on this gripping story.
