The most recent footage from the area near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra East showcases the spot where the NCP leader was shot last night.

His body has been taken to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination after he died from gunshot wounds at Lilavati Hospital.

Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and a prominent figure in Ajit Pawar’s faction of the NCP, was shot near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra and passed away at Lilavati Hospital late on Saturday night.

His body was kept at the hospital, where a large crowd of politicians and celebrities gathered to offer their condolences to his family. Siddique, a three-time MLA from Bandra West, had recently joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP after leaving the Congress.

Chief Minister Shinde called the incident “extremely unfortunate,” revealing that two suspects have been apprehended while one is still on the run.

“This is an extremely unfortunate incident. I spoke with the doctors and the police. Two people have been arrested– the accused are from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The third suspect is on the run. We have directed Mumbai Police to take strict action against those who disrupt law and order,” Shinde informed reporters in Thane a day earlier.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital reported that Baba Siddique suffered two gunshot wounds to his chest and was rushed for emergency treatment around 9:30 PM on Saturday. Despite extensive efforts to resuscitate him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Mumbai Additional CP Paramjit Singh Dahiya confirmed the arrest of two suspects, stating, “The incident happened around 9:30 PM in Nirmal Nagar. Baba Siddique was taken to Lilavati Hospital after the shooting. The Mumbai Crime Branch is handling the investigation.”

Officials also disclosed that the firearm used in the shooting has been recovered, identified as a 9.9mm pistol.
