Waaree Energies Ltd has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first solar panel manufacturer in India to produce over 1 GW of solar modules in a single month, a feat reached in November 2025. The Mumbai-based company announced this record on Wednesday, marking an important advancement for India’s solar manufacturing industry.
The accomplishment was made possible by Waaree’s fully automated and vertically integrated manufacturing facilities, which utilize advanced production lines operating continuously. Currently, the company boasts a domestic manufacturing capacity of 19.7 GW, alongside 2.6 GW capacity in the United States, culminating in a total global capacity of 22.3 GW.
Executive Director Sunil Rathi noted that this achievement showcases both the company’s technological prowess and the trust customers place in Waaree, as India strives to meet its renewable energy target of 500 GW. Rathi emphasized the company’s commitment to ongoing innovation and scalability within the sector.
The milestone represents a monthly output that other manufacturers typically require significantly longer periods to produce, thereby establishing a new operational standard for the industry. Waaree’s breakthrough is anticipated to bolster confidence in Indian solar technology and further support the nation’s endeavor for self-sufficiency in renewable energy manufacturing.
Founded in 1990, Waaree operates manufacturing facilities with a total solar PV module capacity of approximately 16.7 GW worldwide, in addition to 5.4 GW of solar cell capacity. The company has a presence across India and in over 25 countries, offering a diverse range of products including solar panels, inverters, green hydrogen solutions, and battery storage systems.
As of today, the shares of Waaree Energies were trading at ₹2,862.40 on the NSE, reflecting a decrease of ₹47.10 or 1.62 percent by 12:20 PM.
