A balloon from North Korea has landed on South Korea’s presidential compound, dropping trash onto the grounds. Fortunately, no dangerous items were found. The balloon also contained propaganda leaflets mocking President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, according to reports from local newspapers.

This incident follows recent tensions, with North Korea’s Kim Yo Jong condemning South Korea for sending “political motivational rubbish” across the border. The North Korean leader’s sister warned of grave consequences for Seoul’s actions.

In response, Pyongyang has been sending balloons filled with trash and propaganda leaflets into South Korea since May. This latest incident, the second to target the presidential compound, highlights the vulnerability of key South Korean sites to potential North Korean attacks.
