Dabur India Ltd has received environmental clearance for establishing a manufacturing facility in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of ₹400 crore. This facility will produce a variety of products, such as honey, toothpaste, odonil, gulabri (rose water), fruit juices, coconut water, and various oils for markets in the southern region of India.

The company submitted its application for environmental clearance on December 18, 2024, and the approval was granted on January 11, according to sources.

The project will involve constructing an industrial building in Kollar Village, Tindivanam Taluk, within the Villupuram District. In August 2024, Dabur entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government, indicating an initial investment of ₹135 crore for the first phase of the manufacturing facility, which is expected to reach a total investment of ₹400 crore over the next five years. The plant is anticipated to start operations within a year.

This initiative is projected to create approximately 250 direct jobs, along with several thousand indirect employment opportunities, according to the company’s statements.
