Svamitva Scheme Utilizes Advanced Technology to Benefit 3.17 Lakh Villages: Nadda

Union Minister JP Nadda emphasized on Saturday that the distribution of Svamitva property cards and various government initiatives highlight the commitment of the Narendra Modi administration to empower citizens.

He noted that technology has enabled the coverage of 3.17 lakh villages under the Svamitva Scheme, and today, 1.53 lakh farmers would be granted property rights.

Nadda participated virtually in the distribution event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Ahmedabad, alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Governor Acharya Devvrat.

“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, empowering the common man has been a priority. The Modi government has always focused on how to uplift the average citizen,” Nadda stated during a state-level program.

During the event, PM Modi distributed approximately 65 lakh Svamitva property cards, asserting that this initiative would stimulate economic activity and help alleviate poverty.

The property cards are being distributed to beneficiaries across over 50,000 villages in ten states, which include Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and two Union Territories—Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

“When I refer to empowerment, I mean focusing on the rural population, the underprivileged, the disenfranchised, Dalits, youth, and farmers. All programs have been strategically planned to incorporate these groups into the mainstream,” Nadda explained.

He urged stakeholders to engage in the empowerment process and to communicate with beneficiaries to understand how they can join the mainstream society.

Nadda reiterated the government’s guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” which has been upheld in both planning and execution of welfare programs.

He highlighted various initiatives, such as the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which have benefitted marginalized groups and promoted women’s empowerment across different castes and religions.

Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, 61 crore individuals are receiving health coverage of Rs 5 lakh (Rs 10 lakh in Gujarat). “Over 4.5 crore people have been hospitalized, allowing the poor to receive critical healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat initiative,” he stated.

Nadda also mentioned that 25 crore people have risen out of poverty due to the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

He reiterated that the Svamitva Scheme has mapped 3.17 lakh villages and is granting property rights to 1.53 lakh farmers. “Previously, many villagers lacked recognized property titles, hindering their access to bank loans. With technology mapping these villages, we can see how this will significantly empower Indian farmers,” he elaborated.

Chief Minister Patel added that over 64,000 cards were distributed in 415 villages across Gujarat on Saturday. “The use of new technologies, such as drones, for mapping and surveying will guarantee proper land records for every village. The Svamitva Scheme has been transformative for rural India,” he stated, highlighting that the initiative not only empowers property owners but also enhances infrastructure planning and promotes financial stability and sustainable development in rural areas.
