Suneel Darshan, a notable filmmaker, recently discussed the rumored affair between Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar, which he claims impacted his friendship with Kumar. Darshan has collaborated with Kumar on several projects, but their relationship deteriorated as Kumar’s career progressed.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Darshan reflected on Kumar’s decision to withdraw from the 2005 film Barsaat, a project for which he had already begun work. He noted that he had recorded a song featuring both Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra for the film. Kumar and Chopra have previously appeared together in multiple films, including Aitraaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Andaaz, and Waqt: The Race Against Time.

In the interview, Darshan stated, “Now the song is available on YouTube. I shot with Akshay and Priyanka for the film… Yes, the film was indeed shot. Then a point came when there was significant turbulence in his personal life. He asked me, ‘Brother, if this can proceed without me due to personal issues…’ I believe actors need to be very responsible, particularly married men. However, it’s human nature to make mistakes, and the producer seems destined to bear the consequences.”

Regarding the film Barsaat, it was initially offered to Akshay Kumar, who declined the role, resulting in Bobby Deol being cast instead. The romantic drama, released in 2005, features Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra, and Bipasha Basu in leading roles, and is available for streaming on platforms such as Prime Video, MX Player, and Zee5.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the comedy mystery film Housefull 5, alongside co-stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, and Jacqueline Fernandez. He is set to appear next in Bhooth Bangla, featuring Wamiqa Gabbi. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, on the other hand, recently starred in Prime Video’s series Heads of State, opposite John Cena.
