More than 100 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar who were stranded at sea have been rescued by the Sri Lankan navy and brought to safety in the port of Trincomalee. Among the 102 rescued individuals were 25 children, all of whom are now undergoing medical checks before being allowed to disembark.
The Rohingya, a persecuted Muslim minority in Myanmar, often risk their lives on dangerous sea journeys in search of safety.
