Sri Lanka Unveils Squads for WI Series, Kusal Mendis Appointed Captain

New Delhi: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced its squads for the forthcoming multi-format series against the West Indies. The teams are set to compete in three One Day Internationals (ODIs), followed by three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), culminating in a two-match Test series.

The ODI matches will take place from June 3 to June 8, while the T20Is are scheduled for June 12, 14, and 15. The Test series is set to commence on June 25, with the Sri Lankan team departing for the Caribbean on May 26.

Kusal Mendis has been appointed captain for the ODI series, with Kamindu Mendis serving as the vice-captain. Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the Test squad, with Kamindu Mendis again as the vice-captain.

Notably, Wanindu Hasaranga will be making his return to competitive cricket during this series, having been sidelined due to injury since the T20 World Cup in 2026.

Test Squad: Pathum Nissanka, Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka, Dinesh Chandimal, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Kamindu Mendis (VC), Sonal Dinusha, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva (C), Milan Rathnayake, Prabath Jayasuriya, Ramesh Mendis, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, Isitha Wijesundara, Kasun Rajitha.

ODI Squad: Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Pavan Rathnayake, Kusal Mendis (C), Janith Liyanage, Charith Asalanka, Kamindu Mendis (VC), Milan Rathnayake, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka, Eshan Malinga, Asitha Fernando, Pramod Madushan.

T20I Squad: Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Lasith Croospulle, Pavan Rathnayake, Kusal Mendis (C), Kamindu Mendis (VC), Dasun Shanaka, Milan Rathnayake, Dunith Wellalage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka, Eshan Malinga, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara.
