Sharjah Cricket Stadium pitch prediction for India vs Australia showdown

The anticipation is at an all-time high as India prepares to face off against Australia at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 13, with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

The Indian women’s team is in a must-win situation and is facing a tough challenge. Their form has been a bit inconsistent leading up to the match against Australia, with 13 wins, five losses, and a no result in the 19 T20Is they have played in 2024.

India suffered a setback in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup finals before the World Cup, where they were convincingly beaten by Sri Lanka. Their World Cup campaign got off to a rocky start with a 58-run loss to New Zealand.

On the other hand, Australia has been more consistent, with 13 wins and two losses in the 15 T20Is they have played in 2024. However, they are faced with a major concern over the fitness of skipper and wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy, who suffered a foot injury in a recent match.

If Healy is unable to play against India, Australia will have to rely on Tahlia McGrath for captaincy and Beth Mooney to take on the wicketkeeping duties.

The Sharjah Cricket Stadium pitch offers low bounce, making shot-making challenging. Spinners are expected to play a crucial role, and the pitch is likely to slow down as the game progresses.

In terms of T20I stats at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, teams batting first have won 32 matches, while teams bowling first have won 24. The average first innings score is 140, while the average second innings score is 117.

The Australia squad includes Alyssa Healy, Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris, and others, while the India squad features Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, Shafali Verma, and more.
