Shah Rukh Khan Unleashes Menacing Persona in King Promo, Fans Celebrate Legend

Shah Rukh Khan treated his fans by announcing the release date of his much-anticipated film, King on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a new promo for the film. The 45-second promo has left fans in awe with his intense and menacing look.

His fierce appearance has already generated a lot of buzz on social media, with fans praising him as “the last of the stars”. For the caption, the makers wrote, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas #ItsKingTime #KingDateAnnouncement (sic).”

Shah Rukh Khan turns menacing in King’s first promo

The 45-second promo opens with the lines, “It’s time to roar,” before transitioning to Shah Rukh Khan’s look, standing against a backdrop of icy mountains, roaring and screaming. The screen then blacks out with the message, “And end the year with fear.” It quickly cuts to a scene where Shah Rukh Khan leaps from the top of a building, shattering the glass. Covered in blood and with a menacing look, he is seen fighting. He can be heard saying, “Darr nahi, dehshat hu.” The video ends with, “This Christmas, fear wears the crown,” along with King’s release date. 

One Instagram user commented, “King is kinging always (sic).” Another added, “LAST OF THE STARS!! (sic).” Bollywood celebs, including Rajkummar Rao, Ananya Panday, Bhumi Pednekar, Vivek Oberoi, Meezaan Jafri, and Vaani Kapoor, reacted to the post with a like.

King: Cast and production details 

King is directed by War fame director Siddharth Anand, who previously worked with SRK on Pathaan. The film also stars Deepika Padukone in the lead role, marking her sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, will be making her big-screen debut with this gangster drama. It is produced under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
