Luxury automakers Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Lexus are set to introduce several notable models to the Indian market in 2026, expanding availability beyond their current international offerings. JLR is emphasizing its shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) with two significant forthcoming launches, while Lexus plans to update its well-loved sedan and roll out a new SUV designed for tougher terrains.
Upcoming Jaguar Land Rover Launches in 2026
1. 2026 Range Rover Electric
JLR anticipates launching the long-awaited all-electric Range Rover in India during the first half of 2026. Reports from Autocar indicate that the SUV will be equipped with a 118kWh NMC battery and feature a dual-motor configuration, one on each axle, producing a total output of 550hp and 850Nm of torque. Aesthetically, the electric model will largely mirror its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling, featuring only minor alterations to the grille, and is expected to be offered in both standard and long-wheelbase variants.
2. 2026 Jaguar Electric 4-Door GT
Set for a late 2026 introduction, the Jaguar Electric 4-Door GT is currently in expedited development. Built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), the GT is reportedly designed to deliver a range exceeding 700km with a power output around 580hp. Its styling is influenced by the Type 00 concept, showcasing a classic grand tourer silhouette with an upright nose, elongated flat bonnet, sleek sloping roofline, and short decklid.
Upcoming Lexus Launches in 2026
1. 2026 Lexus ES (Next-Gen)
The current Lexus ES has been available in India since 2018, but the next-generation model is already being sold internationally. Lexus plans to unveil this updated iteration in India in 2026, likely offering two hybrid powertrain options: the ES 300h, producing 201hp, and the more robust ES 350h, with an output of 247hp.
2. 2026 Lexus GX
The Lexus GX has been available in select global markets, and its anticipated expansion into right-hand-drive (RHD) markets, including Australia and Japan, makes its Indian launch likely in the latter half of 2026. The GX is built on the TNGA-F ladder-frame platform, which it shares with the Land Cruiser Prado. It boasts a bold, boxy design, while the interior is premium, offering configurations for both six and seven passengers.
Following these announcements, industry experts will be closely watching the developments as both JLR and Lexus aim to solidify their positions in the Indian luxury vehicle market.
