NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits during the 19th Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, as part of the government’s efforts to enhance employment generation. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh noted that since PM Modi launched the Rozgar Mela series on October 22, 2023, there has been a marked increase in government job appointments. He emphasized that the initiative has enhanced transparency in the recruitment process, boosted candidates’ confidence, and instilled greater discipline regarding timelines and deadlines. Additionally, he stated that the merit of candidates selected through the Rozgar Mela has been notably high.

Inspired by Modi’s initiative, several state governments have begun organizing similar job fairs, resulting in the creation of more than 5.5 to 6 lakh jobs across states, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura. To date, approximately 12 lakh recruitment letters have been issued through 18 Rozgar Melas conducted throughout the country. The latest event took place at 47 locations, with recruits joining various ministries such as Railways, Home Affairs, Health, Financial Services, and Higher Education.

In his address, PM Modi shared insights from his recent five-nation tour, where he engaged in discussions with leaders from major corporations around the globe. He highlighted a common theme: a strong international interest in India’s youth and technological advancement. “Today, the world wants to be a part of India’s development journey,” he stated, encouraging Indian youth to gain global exposure.

Modi elaborated on how his recent trip—covering the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy—led to discussions on emerging industries and their future benefits for Indian youth. He pointed out the rapid growth of sectors related to clean energy, critical minerals, green hydrogen, and sustainable manufacturing, noting that these developments open new opportunities within the modern economy. He described increasing cooperation with countries like Sweden, Norway, and Italy in areas like green transition and sustainable technology, as well as maritime infrastructure with the UAE and Norway, highlighting the eventual demand for skilled labor in shipbuilding.

The Prime Minister outlined the strategic significance of the ASML-Tata agreement, which positions India as a key strategic partner and is expected to generate multiple employment opportunities while establishing the nation as a next-generation tech hub. Furthermore, he mentioned that collaborations with Sweden on technology and AI and with the UAE on supercomputing would enhance India’s technological capabilities and job creation.

In summary, Modi stated that through these partnerships, India is fostering opportunities for startups and young professionals, enabling access to advanced expertise, global markets, and growth prospects.
