NEW DELHI: The Pakistan Navy has responded to a distress call from the Indian vessel MV Gautam, which became stranded in the Arabian Sea due to a significant technical failure, the military reported to Reuters on Tuesday.

The MV Gautam was carrying seven crew members—six Indians and one Indonesian—when it encountered a serious technical issue while en route from Oman to India, rendering it adrift at sea.

In response to the situation, the Pakistan Navy dispatched a vessel that provided essential supplies, including food and medical aid, along with technical assistance to stabilize the ship and ensure the safety of the crew members.
