OpenAI and Meta Explore AI Collaboration Opportunities with Reliance

OpenAI y Meta Platforms han mantenido conversaciones separadas con Reliance Industries de India para explorar posibles asociaciones que amplíen sus ofertas de inteligencia artificial en el país, según informó el sitio web de noticias tecnológicas The Information el sábado.

Una de las posibilidades que se está discutiendo involucra una relación entre Reliance Jio y OpenAI para distribuir ChatGPT, de acuerdo con The Information, que citó a dos fuentes familiarizadas con el asunto.

OpenAI también ha conversado con empleados sobre la posibilidad de reducir el precio de suscripción a ChatGPT a solo unos pocos dólares en lugar de los 20 dólares al mes actuales, según el informe, que añadió que no está claro si OpenAI ha discutido la idea de la reducción de precios con Reliance.

Reliance ha conversado sobre vender los modelos de OpenAI a sus clientes empresariales a través de una interfaz de programación de aplicaciones o API, según agregó el informe de The Information, afirmando que el conglomerado liderado por Mukesh Ambani también ha discutido la posibilidad de alojar y ejecutar modelos de OpenAI localmente, para que los datos de los clientes locales se mantengan dentro de India.

En particular, Reliance ha discutido la ejecución de los modelos de Meta y OpenAI en un centro de datos de tres gigavatios que la compañía planea construir, el cual han dicho que será el centro de datos más grande del mundo, ubicado en la ciudad de Jamnagar en Gujarat.

Meta se negó a comentar sobre el informe de The Information. OpenAI y Reliance no respondieron de inmediato a las solicitudes de comentarios sobre el informe.
