The Lucknow Development Authority has advised SP chief Akhilesh Yadav against his planned visit to the International Centre on Friday due to security concerns arising from ongoing construction work at the site.

Here are the top ten updates:

  1. Samajwadi Party Chief stated, “Many Socialist individuals are part of the government and are aiding in its continuation. Bihar Chief Minister emerged from the movement led by Jai Prakash Narayan. This is an opportunity for Nitish Kumar to withdraw support from the government, which is hindering the Socialists from paying tribute to Jai Prakash Narayan on his birth anniversary.”

  2. Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP government for erecting barricades near his residence to prevent Samajwadis from visiting and paying homage to Jayaprakash Narayan’s statue on his birth anniversary. He emphasized the importance of celebrating and honoring Narayan’s legacy.

  3. Amidst the controversy, Samajwadi Party workers protested by climbing over barricades outside Akhilesh Yadav’s residence. One party member even chained himself as a form of protest.

  4. BJP leader Shazia Ilmi advised Akhilesh Yadav to refrain from political theatrics and suggested that if he genuinely wants to pay tribute to Jai Prakash Narayan, he should sever ties with parties that opposed Narayan during the emergency period.

  5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary, recognizing his contributions to positive change in the country and society.

  6. Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP for obstructing the Samajwadi Party’s efforts to honor Jai Prakash Narayan by putting up barricades near his residence. He highlighted the negative actions of the BJP and their impact on various aspects of society.

  7. The LDA conveyed to Akhilesh Yadav that due to the construction work and potential insect infestations at the International Centre, it is unsafe for him to visit the site and garland the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan.

  8. The LDA emphasized that Akhilesh Yadav, who has Z-plus category security, should refrain from visiting the construction site at JPNIC for safety reasons.

In summary, the dispute between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP regarding the tribute to Jai Prakash Narayan has sparked a controversy, with security concerns at the International Centre further complicating the situation.
