Skoda is set to launch an all-new SUV in India, with the latest Kodiaq making its debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi on January 17. The official market launch is expected between April and June of 2025.

Skoda India has commenced extensive testing of the new Kodiaq on Indian roads, resulting in numerous sightings that have revealed crucial details about the imminent SUV. It will be available in at least two trim levels, a reduction from the three trims offered by the outgoing model, with only the top-spec L&K variant being retained until the end of its lifecycle.

Engine Specifications of the New Skoda Kodiaq

Consistent with its predecessor, the new Kodiaq will feature a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine capable of producing 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission and will come with a 4X4 drivetrain.

Design Updates of the New Skoda Kodiaq

The second-generation Kodiaq is slightly larger than its predecessor, offering increased interior space and a more spacious boot. The new model is also anticipated to have a 7-seater configuration, specifically catering to the preferences of the Indian market.

Interior Features of the New Skoda Kodiaq

Interior updates may include a 13-inch infotainment display, a fully digital instrument cluster, and the innovative Smart Dial setup, featuring customizable color displays.

In other news, Hyundai is preparing to unveil a new electric SUV in India, the highly awaited electric version of the popular Creta model. The Creta EV is slated to debut on January 17, coinciding with the opening day of the Bharat Mobility Show 2025. This launch will happen alongside Hyundai’s Ioniq 9 EV, showcasing the brand’s future in electric vehicles.

The Hyundai Creta EV will enter a competitive segment, going up against Mahindra’s recently introduced BE 6e (which may be rebranded as BE 6), the Tata Curvv EV, the MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti-born electric SUV, the e Vitara, which will also be unveiled at the same event.
